Traditional Sunday Worship - 8:30 AM
Prince of Peace offers a traditional Lutheran Worship service each Sunday at 8:30 AM with Liturgies from the Lutheran Book of Worship. This worship reflects the Lutheran Heritage of classic Hymns, Creeds, Prayers, Scripture, Sermon and Sacraments. Liturgical worship lifts up five elements of worship that have been present in Christian worship for as long as Christians have gathered. These five elements are referred to in the Bible and worship texts dating to the first century: Apostles’ teaching, fellowship, Holy Communion, prayers, and hymn singing. All are welcome to attend and celebrate.
Contemporary Sunday Worship - 10:30 AM
Our Contemporary Service at 10:30 AM on Sunday mornings tends to appeal to younger people and families, including children. This service is a little more casual and does not stick as closely to the traditional format and liturgy, yet still practices Lutheran theology, liturgy, and sacraments. Music style at this service is a bit more modern, with our worship band playing more contemporary and modern worship music rather than hymns. This service also includes a Children’s Message preceding the sermon, either given by Pr. Gib or our Director of Children’s and Youth Ministry. This is followed by our Sunday School, The Rock and Little Rock, which meets downstairs for the remainder of the service.
For Lutherans, worship stands at the center of our life of faith.
For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them.
The Sacrament of Holy Communion
Prince of Peace celebrates the Lord’s Supper at both services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, and some special services.
In Baptism we hear God’s voice say “you are my beloved child.” We are then marked with the Cross of Christ forever.
After Worship Fellowship
After service we gather in the Fellowship Hall, adjacent to the Sanctuary, for fellowship, coffee, and treats.
